Over the past two days, I participated in the Model European Parliament (MEP) session at Vilnius Lyceum as a member of the EMPL (Committee on Employment). This experience allowed me to engage in discussions about important societal issues and collaborate with others to develop solutions.
In my committee, we worked on addressing a specific problem related to employment. Our main task was to write a resolution that included both ICs (Issues of Concern) and OCs (Operative Clauses). This required critical thinking, research, and the ability to clearly express ideas in a structured and formal way.
Working with others in the committee was both challenging and rewarding. We had to listen to different perspectives, debate ideas, and find compromises to create a resolution that everyone agreed on. At times, it was difficult to reach consensus, but through discussion and cooperation, we were able to produce a final document.
This experience helped me develop my communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. It also gave me a better understanding of how complex employment-related issues are and how important collaboration is when trying to find solutions.
LO6: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance – Addressing employment-related issues helped me understand real-world challenges that affect societies globally.
