Today, I participated in the school event “Šimtadienis,” where I contributed both by helping organize an activity and by performing in the evening. This experience allowed me to support the school community while also being actively involved in the celebration.
In the morning, my friends and I coordinated a karaoke room where students could choose songs, perform, and enjoy singing. My role was to help manage the space, assist participants in selecting songs, and ensure everything ran smoothly. It was important to create a welcoming and encouraging atmosphere so that everyone felt comfortable participating. Seeing people enjoy themselves and gain confidence while performing was very rewarding.
Later in the evening, I took part in the event by performing on drums with my friends. We played the song “What’s Up” which we had prepared in advance. Performing in front of an audience was both exciting and challenging, but it was a great way to contribute to the event and entertain others.
This experience showed me how service can involve both organizing and actively participating. Supporting others during the karaoke session and contributing to the performance helped create a positive and memorable experience for the school community.
LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively – I worked closely with my friends to coordinate the karaoke room and perform together, which highlighted the importance of teamwork and communication.
