On January 3rd, I explored my creativity in the kitchen by making sushi using a new, easy recipe that required only a few ingredients: salmon, cream, avocado, cucumber, rice and seaweed. I wanted to challenge myself to create something delicious and visually appealing without relying on complicated techniques or hard-to-find ingredients.
I carefully prepared the rice, and used an egg carton as a creative mold to shape the sushi. Using this simple tool allowed me to focus on arranging the ingredients neatly and experimenting with balance and presentation.
After finishing, I fed the sushi to my parents. It was rewarding to see them enjoy the food I had prepared, and sharing it allowed me to get feedback on both taste and presentation. This made the experience even more fulfilling, showing me how creativity can bring people together.
LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth – I discovered that I enjoy experimenting with food presentation and learned to improve my shaping and arranging techniques using the egg carton mold.
