Over the past week, I dedicated time to learning the song “Kitoks Pasaulis” by FOJE on drums. My goal was to improve my technical skills, timing, and ability to express the song’s rhythm creatively.
I began by listening carefully to the song multiple times to understand its tempo, beat patterns, and accents. I then practiced each section slowly, focusing on coordinating my hands and feet. Some sections were challenging, especially the transitions between different rhythms, but breaking the song into smaller parts made it more manageable.
During practice, I also experimented with dynamics and small rhythmic variations to make the performance more expressive. This allowed me to engage creatively with the music, rather than just replicating it mechanically. By the end of the week, I could play through the song more smoothly and felt proud of my progress.
