Over the course of two weeks, I worked on learning to play “What’s Up” on drums in preparation for the school event “Šimtadienis.” My goal was to develop my musical skills while preparing for a live performance.
I began by listening carefully to the song to understand its rhythm, tempo, and structure. I then practiced each section separately, focusing on maintaining a steady beat and coordinating my hands and feet. Some parts were challenging, especially keeping consistent timing throughout the song, but by practicing regularly, I gradually improved.
As I became more confident, I worked on adding dynamics and small variations to make the performance more expressive. Preparing for a real event motivated me to practice more seriously and pay attention to details, as I knew I would be performing in front of an audience. By the end of the preparation period, I felt more comfortable playing the song and ready for the performance.
LO4: Show commitment and perseverance in CAS experiences – Practicing consistently over two weeks helped me improve and build confidence.
